To date, more than 100,000 visitors have come to read nearly 300 posts on the EatingOxford.com blog, helping to move it up the ranks to No.1 blog in Mississippi on Urbanspoon.com and keep it there for more than a year.

UM considers limiting out-of-state students

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - More non-Mississippi residents have qualified to attend the University of Mississippi in the coming year than state students.

Al Rankins, state associate commissioner for academic and student affairs, says such admissions could compromise Ole Miss' ability to serve state residents.

Northcentral Electric Power Association experienced problems with its phone service today. However, utility company representatives say the outage has been repaired.

Now that the phone lines are up and running, the company asks that you call 662-895-2151 if you have an outage.

Grisham to speak at law school event

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Best-selling author John Grisham will speak April 15 at the dedication of the new law school at the University of Mississippi.

Grisham, known for his courtroom thrillers, is a graduate of the Ole Miss law school, which will be named for former Chancellor Robert Khayat during the campus event in Oxford.

Color TV: Careers in the Media

Rhodes College hosted a unique Black History Month program on campus Tuesday night in the Orgill Room of the Clough Building.

About 30 students showed up for "Color TV: Careers in Media," a panel discussion about diversity in media and the accomplishments of African Americans in the field. Panelists inlcuded: Action News 5 morning co-anchor Kym Clark, 95.7 Hallelujah FM radio personality/producer Michael Adrian Davis and the Executive Director of the Tri-State Defender Dr. Karanja Ajanaku.

Students, most of whom are interested in journalism or mass media careers, were also invited to ask questions of the panelists about their personal experiences in their chosen fields, as well as the future of the business.
