Information provided by Reggie White Medical Enterprises:

One of the most celebrated players in the history of football, NFL Hall of Famer Reggie White died suddenly at age 43 from obstructive sleep apnea. His widow, Sara White has joined Opus Medical Management in an effort to contribute to the health and well-being of the public and to potentially spare others the devastating loss of a loved one to a lethal sleep disorder.

The newly formed partnership - Reggie White Medical Enterprises is a multifaceted healthcare management company that’s taking sleep medicine to the next level. Sara and company president Derek Denman agree that to maximize wellness, thorough follow up care and prevention is vital. To achieve this, the company has joined forces with an in-house provider of CPAP therapy and implemented a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center.

The company recently opened a new sleep facility on Guthrie Rd. just off Airways in Southaven.

Sara White states “Reggie’s sleep apnea could have been prevented if only he had used his prescribed CPAP but he was uncomfortable wearing it. I now know that CPAP must be used every single night. Our Respiratory therapists coach patients until they are comfortable with the device and provide follow up care for the duration. I don’t want a single family to suffer the unnecessary tragedy my family was forced to endure. We will not rest until we have exhausted every option to successfully treat every patient. CPAP can save lives but only if it’s used consistently. We’ve also added the state of the art Reggie White Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center to ensure patients with heart and lung disease can receive education and supervised exercise. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in our country and lung disease is the leading cause of disability. We address the needs of this patient population in a new and unique way, bundled together to increase the quality of life, health and safety.

Reggie White Sleep Disorder Centers- Desoto Medical Director, Dr. Marc Hofmann, stated, “Sara’s brave effort to put a face and a personal story to a very real and under diagnosed threat to people’s lives is to be applauded. Our region is an international transportation and logistics hub, the perfect starting point for Reggie White Medical Enterprises. By addressing untreated sleep disorders, trucking companies, air freight, manufacturing, utilities and emergency services will see significant reductions in absenteeism, employee turnover, safety incidents and health care costs. Lives will be saved by increasing public knowledge of this deadly disease.”

Derek Denman, CEO of Reggie White Medical Enterprises stated, “The region’s leading provider of sleep diagnostic testing is joining forces with Sara White in an effort to bring lethal sleep disorders to the forefront of national awareness. She offers unique insight into the grave dangers of this easily treated threat to wellness”.

Reggie White Medical Enterprises is one of the premier Sleep Diagnostic companies in the United States, comprised of top professionals in the field of sleep medicine.
