Mississippi considering retirement changes | Business

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour wants to make changes to the state's retirement program.

The recommendations include freezing the three percent increase retirees currently receive every year for three years.

Any new retirees in the future would also be subject to the three year holdout.

Another proposed change would include adjustments to when retirements can be drawn.

Any changes would have to be approved by the new legislature.
